The guards are a bolt on accessory but also with some self tapping screws to mount them. All mounting points are not visible from outside so once fitted they will look like factory Suzuki parts.
These are designed to fit a 1998 to 2003 Grand Vitara. They can also fit, with a little patience, to a 2004 model.
